SATURDAY 8th MARCH PAIHIA - WAITANGI TREATY GROUNDS BAY OF ISLANDS

On leaving Hihi campsite we drove down the coast to PAIHIA the town was very busy typical seaside resort. We decided to visit the WAITANGI Treaty Ground.

 

The House occupied by the Busby family was built in Australia then dismantled shipped and rebuilt on the site

I think the heat had got to Fred !!!

This boat (Canoe) is used regularly on special events
rowed by 60+ rowers

These canoes are on display no information of their origin etc
