Hello everyone, Its Monday 10th today arrived at our friends Mick & Rita Gannon Te Kuiti.
We arrived Wednesday we were met by Stan ZL1SQV who kindly took us to pick up our camper van our home for the month.Stan invited us back to his home. Where we were greeted by his wife Thelma, she had tea ready with hot sausage rolls and Scones with chocolate biscuit.
We had a lovely chat and time was getting late,so we said our goodbyes. Stan insisted in escorting us to our campsite at Orewa. Which felt was very generous of him,We had a lovely night rest after our long journey it was really spooky to think we were 11 hours difference.
camper van although small is quite comfortable.
We had a really nice spot on the beach.
Fred main priority was to fit an antenna to van for the amateur radio operation.
We had to visit a warehouse called Bunnings for nuts & bolts. He also purchased some screwdrivers and hacksaw & blades.

I walked over to the super market to buy supplies, while Fred finished off fitting the antenna to the van.
Then, it was time to go meet up with Liz & Ron a little later than planed... we managed to find their accommodation quite easily. It was a emotional as we had not seen Liz for some time and not yet met Ron.. We had a lovely chat then walked to the local pub for a meal and chat..We had a lot of years to catch up on.
