2014 TRIP TO NZ AND PERTH AUS - COUNT DOWN 2 WEEKS

2 weeks ago Ray & Leonie Eddington from the famous http://fireflynz.blogspot.com/ came to visit us at our home.
It was one of the nicer days . Beef Stew & dumplings was on the menu. the dumplings were a bit flat. followed by Apple pie & custard. Well all the plates were cleaned to the porcelain.
Their visit was arranged for them to help us plan our itinerary to tour and see as much as we can in the time. Set out below: Thanks Ray & Leonie
Leaving Monday 3rd March via Hong Kong arrive Auckland Wednesday 5th March 13.05.
We are being met at the airport by Stan ZL1SQV
on our arrival. Then on to pick up the camper van our home for the month.

5th Airport to Orewa – Red Beach – 2 hours over night - Set up van with Radio equipment mobile and check portable antennas. Hopefully have some time to relax before we meet up with Fred's Cousin Liz and her partner Ron at Snells Beach.

We plan to be on the air in the evening NZ Time and possible early morning for those able for 40 metre

6^th Snells Beach 30 - 40 mins 

6^th Waipu Cove overnight

7^th  Paihia 2 hrs via Whangarei

8^th  Cape Reinga over night 3 - 4 hours

9^th  Kaitaia – Kaikohe – Waipoua forest overnight 

     (Kauri trees 3-4 hours Tane – Mahuta)     ZL1GA Gary

10^h  Dargaville – Pukekohe 3 4 hours overnight.

11^th Tekuiti 2.1/2 hours  ZL1 HJ Mick & Rita - visit under ground caves

We have to make up our mind where we want go from Tekuiti to give us time to get to Napier Hawks Bay to the Speedway for Stock cars and Sidecars on Saturday 16th March .

12^th Tekuiti – Opotiki 3.1/2 hrs  ZL1ACE Steve

       Tekuiti – Taupo 1.1/2 hrs

       Opotoki – Napier 6.1/2 hrs

       Taupo – Napier 2 hrs

Wednesday Afternoon - Thursday visit Koala Park - meet up with Paul Rogers & Family at Port Kennedy WA 6172 

Friday evening we Leave Perth 23.55 to head home via Hong Kong
