SATURDAY 14th SEPTEMBER CHAPELS & CHURCHES ON THE AIR
Well we made the event
and it was a great success at St Barnabas Church Franche, Kidderminster.
Although we were first timers
on the CHOTA event, the station, GB4SBC, made 112 contacts in 23 countries. The
best DX was USA, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
On 40mtrs we made many
contacts around UK and the continent, as well as 8 Churches as listed:
1. St Keverns Cornwall
2. St Osmonds Derby
3. Mexborough Church
4. Lowthorpe Church E. Yorks.
5. Brecon Cathedral
6. St Peters Orford Darcy
7. All Saints Litcham Norfolk
8. Maidstone Church Kent
We used 2 stations one HF and
one LF, a TS50 and a FT900. The aerials used were a G5RV hoisted to the top of
the church flagpole at approx. 55ft and a three element beam at about 20ft.
we had a lot of visitors interested in the special event station and the craft exhibition also on show for the festival day.
